My childhood town’s library was my favorite place, where no decision had to be made. Surrounded by hundreds of books, I would wander the aisles, picking random books, scanning my favorite pages. Thus, one book would come home with me but 20 more pages from random books would come as well. So many possibilities left open. In 2015 I made digital scans of all the first pages of all the books on my shelves. Repositioning those pages in a new book reveals fresh contexts, surprising juxtapositions, new characters and places. I was curious to know if there isa connection between all these books that I have read -- poetry and prose…. My own time-capsule. The reading is accompanied by an index.
